REP. LEVIN, AN ENVIRONMENTAL LAWYER, BLASTS SUPREME COURT'S 'DRASTIC' CHEVRON DECISION

July 5, 2024 (San Juan Capistrano) -- Rep. Mike Levin, who worked as an environmental lawyer before his election to Congress, blasted the Supreme Court’s decision Friday to overrule a nearly 40-year-old precedent guiding government regulation of the environment and medicine.
 
The 1984 precedent the court overturned arose from a ruling involving oil company Chevron that called for judges to defer to reasonable federal agency interpretations of U.S. laws deemed to be ambiguous.

ROCKEFELLER'S FUND TO PULL MONEY OUT OF FOSSIL FUELS

September 23, 2014 (New York)--On the heels of the world’s largest march to halt climate change, support has come from an unlikely source.  Billionaire John D. Rockefeller made his fortune in oil, otherwise known as black gold. His Standard Oil Company was so big that the Supreme Court ordered it broken up into several smaller companies including such giants as Chevron, Exxon and Mobil.

July 29, 2011 (Lake Murray) – Two men wearing black masks robbed the Chevron gas station at 8780 Lake Murray Boulevard at 11:19 p.m. last night.
