March 19, 2012 (San Diego's East County) -- As a late winter storm sweeps across our region, readers in San Diego's East County have shared some of their favorite photos of the season.

Morgan La Salle shared these first two pastoral images of Pine Valley, where a blanket of white coats corrals and farmlands--serving up a "cool" setting for local barnyard animals.

Julie Salmons captured this picturesque image of the Pine Valley bridge along Interstate-8, framed by pines and  snowy hillsides.

She also forwarded this image of a lone pine in a coat of winter white.

Mount Laguna, Julian and Mount Palomar each received a foot or more of snow, the National Weather Services reports.

In Julian, an unnamed reader sent us this photograph of her backyard beneath the newly fallen snow.

The snowstorm caused delays for some motorists, closing down Interstate 8 east of Alpine. Julie Salmons snapped an image of a snow plough clearing the way, much to the relief of travelers.
