WOMAN, 52, ROBBED OF PURSE IN LA MESA

May 29, 2011 (La Mesa) – Friday night at 10:45, La Mesa Police Officers responded to a report of a robbery in the 4500 block of Maple Avenue.

 

The victim, 52, told police she had just returned home from work and was walking on the sidewalk in front of her apartment complex when she was approached from behind by the suspect, who shoved her and grabbed her purse.

 

The suspect ran away with the purse north on Maple Avenue towards University Avenue. Prior to the police arriving, the victim recovered her purse in a nearby dumpster. An undetermined amount of money was missing.

 

The victim was not injured and the suspect has not been located. He is described as a male of unknown race, 6 feet tall, medium build, wearing a black hooded jacket and baggie blue jeans. The suspect concealed his face with the hood of his jacket.
