SHOTGUN-WIELDING ROBBERY SUSPECT AND DRIVER SOUGHT

July 20, 2017 (La Mesa) – Authorities are seeking public help to locate a masked, gun-wielding suspect seen exiting Conroy’s Flower Shop  on Jackson Drive in la Mesa at 10:50 a.m.  Passerbys called police and reported eseing the suspect get into a Hyundai Elantra, license 7LNX477, driven by another suspect. They are considered armed and dangerous.

A second witness took a photo of the black Hyundai and its license plate.  Police arrived and confirmed that a robbery had occurred. Minutes later, La Mesa Police spotted the vehicle traveling westbound on I-8 in the College area.

WOMAN ROBBED AT GUNPOINT IN LA MESA

 

January 16, 2014 (La Mesa) – Last night at 7 p.m., La Mesa Police received a 911 call from a woman who had just been robbed at gunpoint  in the 7600 block of Normal Avenue by two young men in black ski masks who stole her purse.

LA MESA SHELL STATION ROBBED AT GUNPOINT

 

September 11, 2013 (La Mesa) – Two men robbed the Shell Station at 9090 Dallas Street in La Mesa on September 10 shortly before 11 p.m.  A suspect armed with a gun demanded cash and lottery tickets while a second suspect in a mask waited outside as a lookout, armed with a tire iron.  They were last seen fleeing north on Meadow Crest Drive.  The suspects have not yet been found.

PEDESTRIANS ROBBED AT GUNPOINT IN LA MESA

 

August 17, 2013 (La Mesa) – Two pedestrians were robbed of their purses in the 8100 block of La Mesa Boulevard on August 14 at 10:05 p.m.  Two suspects approached the victims from behind, and one of the suspects displayed a black handgun. The other suspect was armed with a crowbar.

One of the suspects demanded the victims’ purses. After the victims complied, the suspects fled eastbound La Mesa Boulevard on foot. The victims ran to a nearby residence and called La Mesa Police.

SPIDERMAN MASKED ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED

 

June 13, 2013 (La Mesa) – On June 7, 2013 La Mesa Police Detective Dale Perry indentified the robbery suspect from the Sierra Market (3800 Massachusetts Avenue) robbery that occurred on January 28, 2013. In the Sierra Market robbery, the clerk got into an altercation with the suspect and was injured.

On June 7, 2013 at approximately 10:00 am, La Mesa Police detectives arrested 43 year-old Johnny McGee of San Diego and 38 year-old Gina E. Ludwig of San Diego for the robbery.

STRONG-ARM ROBBERY AT LA MESA MOTEL

 

May 22, 2013 (La Mesa) – La Mesa Police were called to the Motel 6 at 7621 Alvarado Road regarding a robbery that had just occurred on May 20 at 2:27 a.m.  Officers found a victim suffering minor injuries from being struck in the head by two unknown suspects.  The victim reported he was robbed of his wallet and car keys by the two assailants.

The victim stated he was visiting a friend and walked out to his vehicle in the parking lot to leave.  The victim reported he was approached from behind, struck over the head, and then knocked to the ground while he was trying to get into his vehicle. The suspects, who were described as African American males, both wearing dark hooded sweatshirts, took the victim’s property and ran towards a waiting vehicle parked on Alvarado Road.  The suspects then fled the scene in that vehicle and were last seen driving east from the motel property.

ARMED ROBBERY AT USA GAS STATION IN LA MESA

March 18, 2013 – A man armed with a gun robbed the USA Gas Station located at 7594 University Avenue in La Mesa shortly after midnight March 17, 2013. The suspect entered the store, displayed a black semi-automatic handgun and demanded cash. After the clerk complied, the suspect left the store on foot in an unknown direction.  Officers searched the surrounding areas but were unable to locate the suspect.

The suspect is described as a black male adult in his 30s, approximately 5’10 tall, 200 lbs, wearing a white shirt, dark pants, and a black baseball cap. The suspect also wore a white bandana covering the lower portion of his face.

MOM ROBBED WHILE HOLDING TODDLER IN LA MESA

October 14, 2012 (La Mesa)—A woman carrying her 2-year-old child in the 8000 block of University Avenue in La Mesa was pushed  from behind, then robbed of her purse at 7:30 p.m. last night. 

According to La Mesa Police, the victim was crossing the street when the man shoved her in the back, then stole her purse and fled.  Neither the woman nor her child were injured.  The suspect remains at large.

POLICE SEARCH FOR ROBBERY SUSPECTS IN LA MESA

 Update 8 p.m. - La Mesa Police advise they have cleared the area, but did not locate the suspects.

April 11, 2012 (La Mesa) 7 p.m. – The City of La Mesa warns of police activity near Dallas and Fletcher Parkway, where a police helicopter is searching for two men suspected of robbing a nearby Shell Station.

WOMAN ROBBED NEAR LAKE MURRAY

November 18, 2011 (La Mesa) – A woman walking in the 5600 of Lake Park Way near Lake Murray called 911 yesterday at 5:34 p.m. to report that a man pushed her to the ground and forcibly took her backpack, which was dark blue and contained her phone and medications.

PROWLER STARTLES RESIDENT, FLEES SCENE IN LA MESA

 


October 18, 2011 (La Mesa)—La Mesa Police responded to call yesterday at 2:41 from a resident in the 9800 block of Lakeview Drive. The resident told police he saw a man enter his home through the front door, which the suspect had been broken.

October 14, 2011 (La Mesa)—Two Hispanic men of medium build, wearing dark hooded sweatshirts and light bandanas over their faces, robbed a man at gunpoint tonight. The victim, 56, reported that he was sitting in his vehicle in the Park and Ride lot near Bancroft Drive and Fuerte Drive when the suspects’ vehicle, a dark four-door sedan, pulled up beside him.

POLICE SEEK SUSPECTS IN MAROON ULTIMA WHO ROBBED 95-YEAR-OLD WOMAN IN LA MESA

 

March 22, 2011 (La Mesa) – A witness who saw a 95-year-old woman knocked to the ground in a robbery this evening chased two suspects, La Mesa Police report. Police are seeking two suspects in a maroon 2000-2004 Nissan Ultima 4-door vehicle.

ROBBER FORCES EMPLOYEES INTO CLOSET IN YOGURT STORE HOLD-UP

 

March 7, 2011 (La Mesa) – A lone gunman made off with cold cash stolen from the Golden Spoon Frozen Yogurt Store at 5640 Lake Murray Blvd. last night around 9:25. The suspect displayed a handgun and ordered two employees to empty the safe, then deposit the money in a paper bag. He then forced the employees into a closet and blocked the closet door with chairs.

DRIVE-BY PURSE-SNATCHING IN COSTCO LOT

 

 

August 20, 2010 (La Mesa) – A woman walking in the Costco parking lot in La Mesa on Wednesday shortly before noon had her purse stolen As the suspects drove past the victim, one suspect hung out a passenger window and forcibly grabbed her purse, causing burn-type abrasion to her arm. The suspects were last seen speeding away through the Costco parking lot.

SKATEBOARDER BEATEN AND ROBBED IN LA MESA

 

August 16, 2010 (La Mesa) – Five men beat and robbed a male victim who was walking near 7900 La Mesa Boulevard Saturday at 1:46 a.m. The assailants, all described as black male adults 18-20 years old, stole and victim’s skateboard and wallet. The victim was knocked to the ground, punched and kicked.

The suspects were last seen entering two white vehicles, one possibly a Toyota Camry, heading toward University Avenue.

LA MESA GAS STATION ROBBED AT GUNPOINT; REWARD OFFERED

 

January 18, 2009 (La Mesa) At approximately 1:31 this morning, La Mesa Police received a report of a robbery at the Arco Station at 9600 Murray Drive. A white male suspect entered the store and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun, demanding money and cigarettes. The clerk handed the suspect an undetermined amount of money from the register and a pack of cigarettes.

The clerk followed the suspect out of the store and saw him get into a white newer model sedan, then drive off west on Murray Drive.
