Equal Pay Would Cut Poverty Rate for Working Women by More than Half
April 8, 2015 (Washington, DC)—In advance of Equal Pay Day on April 14, the Institute for Women’s Policy Research (IWPR) released a new report showing that women have higher rates of poverty, and much lower rates of business ownership than men in all 50 states despite having made significant progress over the last 25 years in attaining a college education. This trend is especially pronounced among the youngest workers.
