October 19, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team opened day one of the ITA Southwest Regional Championships at the Barnes Tennis Center with challenging matchups that led to just two wins and seven losses in the first rounds of the event. The Aztecs hope to seize an opportunity to stay alive tomorrow in the championship bracket with one doubles pair advancing and two duos coming off round of 64 byes.

October 8, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State’s Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain) captured the Flight 2 singles championship at the Aztec Fall Invitational Sunday at Aztec Tennis Center.

The SDSU sophomore defeated Liberty’s Eddie Gutierrez by a 6-4, 6-2 count to highlight the final day of competition for the Scarlet and Black in its only home event of the fall tournament schedule.

October 6, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State men’s tennis team made its home debut Friday at the 2017 Aztec Fall Invitational Friday, with 10 of the squad’s 11 players seeing action at Aztec Tennis Center.

Sophomore Rafael Gonzalez Almazan (Madrid, Spain) and redshirt freshman Daniel de la Torre (Calexico, Calif.) were the big winners on opening day of SDSU’s annual tournament, posting two victories apiece in singles competition, while each emerged triumphant in doubles.

October 1, 2017 (Tulsa) - After posting two victories to open the Saint Francis Health System ITA All-American Championships, San Diego State men's tennis senior Santiago Cevallos (Queretaro, Mexico) came up short in his quest to qualify for the main singles draw Sunday after falling in the round of 64 of the pre-qualifying bracket at Michael D. Case Tennis Center.

April 26, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s tennis senior Kennedy Davis earned a spot on the All-Mountain West singles team, the conference announced Wednesday. The all-conference nod is the sole award for SDSU this season and marks the first conference honor in the Aztec senior’s four seasons. The league’s 11 head coaches vote on selections for the team.

April 21, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State emerged with its third consecutive victory Friday after recording a 4-2 conquest of Santa Clara in a non-conference dual match at Aztec Tennis Center. With the win, SDSU moves to 8-14 on the season, while the Broncos slip to 14-6 overall.

April 16, 2017 (Alberquerque) - San Diego State won its second straight on Sunday with a satisfying 4-2 triumph over New Mexico in a Mountain West dual match at McKinnon Family Tennis Stadium. With the victory, the Aztecs raise their record to 7-14 on the season and 3-3 in conference play, while the Lobos slip to 10-12 overall and 3-3 in the Mountain West.

April 9, 2017 (Reno, Nev.) - The San Diego State women’s tennis team traveled to Reno, Nev., this weekend for its first road conference match against the University of Nevada, but could not get past the Wolf Pack and ultimately fell 5-2 at the McArthur Tennis Center. Today’s loss puts the Aztecs at 0-2 in conference play and marks the team’s sixth straight loss.

UNLV remains perfect in conference play (3-0) while today’s loss marked the fifth straight for the Aztecs.

March 29, 2017 (Rancho Sante Fe) - The San Diego State men’s tennis team stepped off campus for a non-conference dual match against No. 22 Stanford on Wednesday, but came up on the wrong side of a 4-0 decision at Rancho Santa Fe Tennis Club. With the loss, the Aztecs dropped their seventh in a row, falling to 5-12 on the year, while the Cardinal improve to 10-4 overall.

March 25, 2017 (Logan, Utah) - Seeking some relief from its season-long losing streak, the San Diego State men’s tennis team took to the road this weekend, but came up on the short end of a 4-1 decision at 42nd-ranked Utah State Saturday in a Mountain West dual match at Sports Academy & Racquet Club. With the defeat, the Aztecs drop their sixth in a row, falling to 5-11 overall and 1-1 in conference play, while the Aggies raise their record to 13-7 on the year and 1-0 in the MW.
