September 26, 2017 (Los Angeles) - Senioritis is in full swing for the Padres.  They’re perfectly content losing all of their games these last two weeks. In fact, they lost 9-3 to the Dodgers last night. But what is baseball without fun? They’d try again tonight with Dinelson Lamet on the mound against Alex Wood for the Dodgers.

The Dodgers got the upper hand again.  Cody Bellinger grounded out in the third to score a run to make it 1-0 LA.

Christian Villanueva and Hunter Renfroe got the Padres the lead with two solo homers in the fifth, but Yasmani Grandal outdid them all with a three-run blast to put the Dodgers up 4-2. Renfroe set the record for most home runs by a rookie in Padres history, but it’d be in vain.

Corey Seager added one more in the sixth on a line drive single, but the Dodgers left the bases loaded and settled for a 5-2 lead.

To add insult to injury, a former Padre joined in on making the Padres’ night miserable.  Adrian Gonzalez hit a solo homer in the seventh.  Seager did it again with a three-run blast to right and the Dodgers left the Padres in the dust with a 9-2 win.

The season finale with the Dodgers is tomorrow night at 7:10 p.m.  Clayton Richard starts against Rich Hill for the Dodgers.
