March 16, 2023 (Scottsdale) - After a rare spring two days off, one due to rain, the Padres were back in Scottsdale facing the Rockies. Michael Wacha started against Austin Gomber for Colorado.
New Rockie Kris Bryant singled in the first to score Yonathan Daza and the Rockies led 1-0 after one.
In the third and fourth, the Padres took over. Fernando Tatis Jr. hit a sac fly to score Rangel Ravelo in the third and Austin Nola singled to score Ha-Seong Kim in the fourth and the Padres led 2-1 after four.
Trent Grisham hit a solo homer in the fifth. Kim singled and scored Tatis Jr. David Dahl singled to score two and the Padres led 6-1 after five.
Jake Cronenworth hit a solo homer in the sixth and the Padres led 7-1 after six.
UP NEXT
The Padres go back to Peoria tomorrow for another night game when they host the Mariners. First pitch is at 6:40 p.m. and will only be available on 97.3 FM. Chris Flexen starts for Seattle against Blake Snell.
