September 2, 2021 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s soccer team played the Washington State Cougars nearly straight up for the first 85 minutes, allowing only one goal, but a pair of late Cougars tallies put the game away in a 3-0 win over the Aztecs on the SDSU Sports Deck on Thursday night.

September 1, 2021 (Irvine) - The Aztec cross country team placed third at the UC Irvine’s Anteater Opener, their first meet of the 2021 season. Jessica Kain was the top Aztec finisher, coming in sixth place with a time of 14:22.5 in the 4k.

August 26, 2021 (Moraga, Calif.) - Freshman Denise Castro scored the first goal of her college career and staked the San Diego State women’s soccer team to a 1-0 lead in the 34th minute, but after having a player sent off in the 66th minute, the Aztecs surrendered a pair of goals to the Saint Mary’s and lost its game 2-1.

August 22, 2021 (San Diego) - The San Diego State women’s soccer team surrendered an own goal less than five minutes into its contest against the Pepperdine Waves and was never able to claw its way back into the game, falling 3-0 on Sunday evening on the SDSU Sports Deck. It was the team’s first home loss since a 0-1 decision to San Diego on Sept. 13, 2019.

August 20, 2021 (San Diego) - Senior Laura Fuentes scored on a penalty kick in the 58th minute against the Army West Point Black Knights to send the San Diego State women’s soccer team a 1-0 victory in each team’s season opener. The win improved the Aztecs record in season openers on SDSU’s home field to 15-6-1.

After a shortened 2020-21 season, SDSU and the Mountain West will return to its 18-game conference slate (nine home and nine road games), with each school playing eight opponents twice (home-and-home) and two opponents once.

August 14, 2021 (San Diego) - San Diego State men's basketball released the initial version of its Mountain West Conference schedule for the 2021-22 campaign on Friday, the first phase in the scheduling process. After a year in which teams were scheduled to play two-game series at home against half the league and on the road against the other half, for a total of 20 contests, the format has reverted to 18-games (nine home and nine road games) with each team playing eight opponents twice (home-and-home) and two opponents once.  For the Aztecs, league games begin on Jan. 1 and wrap up on March 5.
