July 15, 2016 (San Diego) - Rejoice!  Baseball is back!  The Padres started the second half of the season against the NL West rival San Francisco Giants.  Madison Bumgarner took the mound for the Giants against Andrew Cashner.

Despite MadBum on the mound, the Padres started the scoring in the first when Yangervis Solarte doubled, scoring Wil Myers and the Pads took a 1-0 lead.

But that didn’t last long.  In the second, Conor Gillaspie singled, scoring Brandon Crawford and the game was tied at one.

The Padres took the lead back again 2-1 in the third on Matt Kemp’s single that scored Derek Norris.

Adam Rosales added on with a solo homer in the fourth and the Padres went up 3-1.

Myers followed that up with a solo homer of his own in the fifth and the Friar lead extended to 4-1.  They'd carry that till the end to take game one 4-1.

Game two is an earlier evening game tomorrow night at 5:40.
