July 23, 2016 (Washington D.C.) - It felt good to win last night.  So good, in fact, that the Padres wanted to do it again tonight in game two against the Nationals.  Edwin Jackson, who pitched a sensational game last Sunday at Petco, started on the hill against Max Scherzer for Washington.

They wasted no time again.  Ryan Schimpf blasted a two-run homer in the second and the Padres leaped out in front 2-0.

But the quick lead evaporated starting in the third with Daniel Murphy’s sac fly that scored Ben Revere to cut the lead to 2-1.

In the fifth, Revere tied the game with a double that scored Danny Espinoza and the score was 2-2.

The bats stayed quiet until the ninth when Stephen Drew walked it off, hitting a double that scored Anthony Rendon and the Nats walked it off 3-2.

Be ready to get up early if you want to watch Padres baseball again; the Pads and Nats wrap up their series tomorrow at 10:35 a.m.
