June 26, 2016 (Cincinnati) - Did you wake up early today for the last game of this Padres-Reds series to see if the Padres would finally get a sweep?  You should have gone back to bed.

Luis Perdomo started on the hill for San Diego against Anthony Desclafani for the Reds.

Naturally, this was a sweep opportunity, so the Padres came out of the gate failing.  Tucker Barnhart doubled in the second, scoring Jose Peraza and the Reds took a 1-0 lead.

Jay Bruce homered in the fourth to give the Reds a 2-0 lead.

But just Drew Pomeranz worked pitcher magic yesterday at the plate, Desclafani worked his own today, singling in the sixth with the bases loaded and scoring Adam Duvall for a 3-0 Cincy lead.  They’d carry that lead to the end to avoid the sweep.

The Pads get a day off tomorrow before the Orioles come to San Diego on Tuesday.  The pitching matchup will be the same as it was on Wednesday:  Ubaldo Jimenez for Baltimore against Erik Johnson for the Padres.
