March 5, 2018 (San Diego) - San Diego State lacrosse midfielder Jill Haight was named Mountain Pacific Sports Federation Defensive Player of the Week Monday for her exceptional performance in the Aztecs’ 19-3 triumph at home over St. Bonaventure on March 2. With her award, the SDSU collected the first conference weekly honor of her career.

A native of Milton, Ga., Haight turned in a superb all-round effort in the Aztecs’ conquest of the Bonnies, tying for team-high honors with three goals to go with three draw controls, two ground balls, two caused turnovers and one assist, as the Scarlet and Black limited the visitors to three goals on the night.

Haight was also instrumental in SDSU’s 22-2 romp over Presbyterian on Monday afternoon, posting three goals to go with a team-high four draw controls and four ground balls while adding two caused turnovers.

For the season, Haight leads the Aztecs with 16 goals, 32 draw controls, 13 ground balls and nine caused turnovers. In addition, has converted 6 of 8 free-position attempts this year and owns a sparkling .885 shot-on-goal percentage.

San Diego State resumes its busy stretch on Tuesday, March 6 when it plays host to Niagara, starting at 7 p.m. at Aztec Lacrosse Field.  ECM will possibly have coverage of this game.  Follow @ECMagSports on Twitter for possible live updates.
