July 24, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State women's rowing head coach Bill Zack announced today the hiring of Dave Cormier as assistant coach. Cormier arrives on the Mesa after spending nearly two and a half years as the program director and head coach of Westford Community Rowing in Westford, Massachusetts.

June 12, 2017 (Sarasota, Fla.) - Four Aztec rowing signees competed in the 2017 US Rowing Youth National Championships over the weekend at Nathan Benderson Park in Sarasota, Fla., where two freshmen recruits medaled in events.

May 31, 2017 (San Diego) - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced the list of CRCA National Scholar Athletes for the 2017 season, naming rowing’s Emaleigh White and Nadirah Jamaludin as award recipients. Both student-athletes are first-time recipients of the award.

May 13, 2017 (Sarasota, Fla.) - The San Diego State rowing capped its season Saturday morning at the American Athletic Conference Championship at Nathan Benderson Park where the team took home two medals and finished fourth in the conference. Junior Isabelle Paul earned a spot on the first team all-conference, while junior Sara Avery and freshman Bianca van Dyk received second team honors.

May 10, 2017 (San Diego) - Following San Diego State rowing’s excellent finish at the Western intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on April 30 in Gold River, Calif., four Aztecs were named to the all-WIRA team. Sara Avery and Brynn Danvers both made the women’s first team, while Brooke Hepner and Laura Keane landed on the women’s second team.

May 2, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State second varsity eight earned the American Athletic Conference Boat of the Week honor, the conference office announced Tuesday. This is the first weekly award for the 2V8 and just the second conference honor for the SDSU rowing team. The second eight had a stellar weekend in Gold River, Calif., where it won its two races at the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Lake Natoma.

April 30, 2017 (Gold River, Calif.) - The San Diego State rowing team finished off the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Lake Natoma with a win in the second varsity eight final, second place finishes in the varsity eight and varsity four finals, and a fourth-place finish in the novice eight final.

April 29, 2017 (Gold River, Calif.) - The San Diego State rowing team traveled north for the Western Intercollegiate Rowing Association Championships on Lake Natoma. The Aztecs raced four boats at the regatta on Saturday, three of which determined race lanes for Sunday’s grand final events.

April 21, 2017 (San Diego) - The San Diego State rowing team competed in its final dual of the season this morning, where the Aztecs finished ahead of UC San Diego, 13-0, to claim the Patty Wyatt Perpetual Trophy in its inaugural year. SDSU entered three eight boats and two four boats in the dual against the Tritons.

October 30, 2016 (San Diego) - The San Diego State rowing team competed in its first event of fall schedule on Sunday at the Race for the Cure, hosted by UCSD, which raised money for breast cancer research. The Aztecs faced host UCSD, USD, Orange Coast College (OCC) and ZLAC Rowing Club in their races.

August 29, 2016 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s rowing head coach Bill Zack announced the hiring Monday of Bobbie Smith as assistant coach. Smith arrives on Montezuma Mesa after a prosperous four-year run with the junior rowing program at the Marina Aquatic Center in Marina Del Rey, Calif. She will be involved in all phases of the Aztec program on and off the water.
