CHIEF'S CORNER: NO FLU FOR YOU!

January 5, 2013 (San Diego's East County) -- The flu season is here and like a wildfire, it seems to be spreading rapidly.  Symptoms may include: A 100 oF or higher fever or feeling feverish (not everyone with the flu has a fever), a cough and/or sore throat,  runny or stuffy nose. headaches and/or body aches, chills. fatigue. nausea, vomiting, and/or diarrhea (most common in children).

5 MORE FLU DEATHS REPORTED, EMERGENCY ROOM VISITS DROP

March 6, 2013  (San Diego)--Five more influenza deaths were reported last week, the County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA) announced today. That brings the total this season to 48, the second highest on record.

HHSA also reported a decline in the percentage of emergency department patients with influenza-like-illness, as well as in the number of lab-confirmed flu cases.

FLU VACCINE AVAILABLE AT SEVERAL LOCATIONS

 

 

October 6, 2011 (San Diego and East County) -- Sharp Healthcare announces a series of flu clinics in San Diego and East County.  A $2 donation is suggested.  Scroll down for details on locations. No appointments are necessary.
