May 27, 2019 (Santee) – The Bayou Brothers will present a rollicking concert complete with Cajun, Zydeco and blues  music at Santee Lakes on Saturday, June 15th at 7 p.m. Enjoy the sounds of New Orleans and the Louisiana bayous – and you just may get a free lesson in how to play the rub board.

SANTEE TREE LIGHTING NOV. 21

 

November 18, 2014 (Santee) - Ho ho ho! A free snow zone and sledding are coming to Santee on November 21st from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. during the city’s annual tree-lighting ceremony at Santee Trolley Square, located at 9884 Mission Gorge Road.

BAYOU BROTHERS BRING ZYDECO, R&B AND BLUES MUSIC TO SANTEE WED. MARCH 12 AT MARDI GRAS

March 10, 2014 (Santee)—“The musicianship is top notch and the music is infectious. I’m loving every minute of it!” says bass player Danny Perez of Santee, the newest member of the popular Bayou Brothers band.  The Bayou Brothers will bring their rollicking, foot-stomping, musical gumbo style to Santee’s Pinnacle Peak restaurant on Wednesday, March 12 for East County Magazine’s own Mardi Gars party from 6-10 p.m. 

It’s a sound straight out of New Orleans’ dance clubs, Louisiana blues festivals and backyard crawfish boils complete with drums, accordion, keyboard, guitar, rub-board and three-part harmony.  The styles range from blues to R&B to zydeco.

 Rick Lee, a drummer who founded the Bayou Brothers back in 1996 with friends who had toured through the South and picked up the flavor of zyedco music, calls it “Louisiana party music.”

ANNUAL SANTEE HOLIDAY LIGHTING EVENT NOVEMBER 22

 

November 7, 2013 (Santee) – Each year since 2003, the City of Santee has launched the holiday season by hosting its Holiday Lighting Celebration at Santee Trolley Square.

This year’s celebration -- 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 22 -- will include booths, music, and activities guaranteed to ensure a fun outing for the entire family. 

Live music will be provided at the amphitheater stage by the Bayou Brothers, recent winners of “Favorite Blues Band” at the San Diego Music Awards. Also performing will be roving carolers dressed in period costumes and a community theater group singing holiday tunes.

FROM ZYDECO TO RHYTHM AND BLUES: BAYOU BROTHERS IN CONCERT MAY 3 IN SANTEE

April 30, 2013 (Santee) – Summit Fellowship Concert Series will present the Bayou Brothers in Concert with special guests from the UK, Mama Tokus and Andy Williamson. On Friday, May 3 at 7 p.m.  Tickets cost $15.00.  Start with a blend of accordion, keyboards, guitar, bass, drums and rub board, add three-part harmonies, mix it up with a lot of rockin' Zydeco, blues and R&B and you get the rousing, rollicking, heart thumpin', foot stompin' Bayou Brothers.

FREE CONCERTS, CRAFTS & GIVEAWAYS AT GROSSMONT CENTER IN DECEMBER


November 30, 2011 (La Mesa) -- Grossmont Shopping Center announces a series of free concerts each Friday night in December from 6-9 p.m. featuring popular local bands.  In addition, each Saturday from 1-3 p.m., kids can enjoy craft activities with favorite holiday characters.  In addition, free gift giveaways will be held each Sunday from 1-3 p.m.

The event is scheduled for Friday, November 18, at the Santee Trolley Square from 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. The cost is free.  It is an event that celebrates the start of the holiday season.
