October 8, 2012 (Los Angeles) — California voters are overwhelmingly in favor of revising the state’s “three-strikes” law, according to the latest results from the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times Poll.

POLL FINDS BALLOT MEASURE TO REQUIRE LABELING OF GENETICALLY MODIFIED FOODS HAS BROAD SUPPORT

October 4, 2012  (Los Angeles)— Californians aren’t price sensitive when it comes to genetically modified foods, reveal the latest results of the USC Dornsife/Los Angeles Times Poll. Even when presented with information about how much regulation might cost the cash-strapped state, a majority of voters support a November ballot initiative that would require new labeling for food that contains genetically modified ingredients. If approved by voters, the initiative would become the first of its kind in the United States.

April 8, 2012 (Anza-Borrego)--The spectacular vistas, solitary wilderness and unique wildlife of Anza Borrego Desert State Park are under threat.  We write to you today to ask for a few moments of your time to help us protect your park. The Anza-Borrego Foundation opposes the proposed Ocotillo Wind Energy Facility, which will cause profound negative impacts on our desert wildlife, scenic vistas, and our pocketbooks.
We urge you to sign an online petition to help ABF oppose this project.
We also ask you to vote in an online poll conducted by East County Magazine.

CONSERVATIVE CANDIDATES PROTEST DEBATE SHUT-OUTS IN 52ND CONGRESSIONAL DISTIRCT

March 12, 2012 (San Diego) – What criteria should news outlets use in determining who should be included in political debates—and who should be left out?
 
Ten candidates have thrown their hats in the ring to seek the newly redrawn 52nd Congressional District seat currently held by Republican Brian Bilbray.  But which ones receive a seat at debates to bring their messages to voters has become a key point of contention with some debate sponsors restricting the number of participants.
