HUNDREDS ATTEND SANTEE FIRE DEPARMENT OPEN HOUSE

October 15, 2023 (Santee) -- Santee Fire Department held its Open House on Oct. 7, attracting hundreds of visitors. Children enjoyed interactive activities including face painting and games, as well as boarding fire engines, squirting water with a fire hose and more.

August 19, 2015 (San Diego’s East County) - What do bald eagles and fairy shrimp have in common?  They’re both on a list of species to be protected under a $3 million grant that the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service is providing to San Diego County for habitat preservation. In addition, the City of Santee will receive close to $189,000 for its Multiple Species Conservation Program.

SANTEE KICKS OFF SUMMER CONCERT SERIES

June 18, 2015 (Santee)—The City of Santee opens its 32nd annual summer concert season this Thursday, June 18th with the classic rock band, the Cat*illacs. It’s the first of 10 concerts in the Town Center Community Park East.  The concerts will be held from 6:30 to 8 p.m. each Thursday night from now through August 27th, (except for the July 4th holiday weekend).

SANTEE ESTABLISHES COOL ROOM DURING HEAT ADVISORY

 

September 15, 2014 (Santee) - The City of Santee today set up a “Cool Room” at San Diego Christian College, 200 Riverview Parkway, across from Trolley Square, to assist residents without air conditioning during the heat advisory issued by the National Weather Service.

SANTEE SALUTES JULY 4

 

June 23, 2014 (Santee)--The City of Santee will hosts its annual Santee Salutes event on July 4th from 3:30 to 10 p.m.  at Town Center community Park East, located at 550 Park Center Drive.

HELPING HANDS IN SANTEE

April 30, 2012 (Santee) -- Swarming like bees all over an area of the San Diego River Trail in Santee, close to 400 local members and friends of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints joined together on Saturday, April 28 to participate in the annual “Mormon Helping Hands” day of service. Volunteers of all ages performed duties such as trail maintenance, fencing installation, concrete breakdown, weed abatement, painting, laying down mulch, litter removal, water primrose and tamarisk removal and overall beautification tasks of the area.
