MUSIC SCHOLARSHIP COUNCIL NEEDS FUNDS TO SAVE CLASSICAL MUSIC IN OUR REGION

April 5, 2021 (El Cajon) – For the past 64 years, the Music Scholarship Council based in El Cajon has enriched our community with classical music. The nonprofit 501c3 group has provided over $400,000 in scholarships for aspiring young musicians ages 16-24 across San Diego County to further their musical ambitions, including instrumentalists and vocalists. But now, that mission is in peril.

CELEBRATION OF MUSIC MARCH 16 IN EL CAJON TO FEATURE RENAISSANCE, BAROQUE, CLASSICAL AND ROMANTIC

March 3, 2019 (El Cajon) — A celebration of music spring concert on March 16 at 4 p.m. will feature the combined forces of San Diego State University choirs, San Diego School of Creative and Performing Arts choirs, plus a battalion of brass, organ and percussion. The performance will be at the the First Presbyterian Church of El Cajon, 500 Farragut Circle, El Cajon.
 
The musical groups will perform Renaissance, Baroque, Classical and Romantic music.
 
Advance tickets are $8; tickets at the door $10.  For further information, call 619-442-2583.

CHAMBER MUSIC EXTRAVAGANZA IN ALPINE NOV 17

November 14, 2012 (Alpine) – A Chamber Music Extravaganza performance will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, November 17 at Christ the King Episcopal Church, 1460 Midway Drive in Alpine. Enjoy the music of Beethoven, Brahms, & more. Directed by Sylvia Lorraine Hartman and featuring the Alpine Chamber Players, Classical Guitar, Trumpet, Flute, Soprano, and the Christ the King Singers.  Step back in time, as artists perform in period dress and even the guests are invited to attend in historical fashions.

GROSSMONT SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA AND MASTER CHORALE PERFORM AMERICANA MAY 18 AND 20

 
May 15, 2012 (El Cajon) -- The final concerts in the 2011-2012 performance season of the Grossmont Symphony Orchestra & Master Chorale will be held May 18 and 20, celebrating music of American composes from classical to jazz.
