A DOG-GONE GOOD TIME: JACK RUSSELL DOG SHOW AT BATES NUT FARM DEC. 3-4

 November 21, 2011 (Valley Center)   The South Coast Jack Russell Terrier Club will host the 2011 Winter Sol Terrier Trial I & II 2011 at the Bates Nut Farm, Saturday and Sunday, December 3 – 4, from 9:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

 
Several events will be held throughout the weekend, including Racing, Agility, Go to Ground, Super Earth, Brush Hunt and Conformation. There will be a silent auction on Saturday and a raffle both days. Lunch will be provided by the Russell Rescue for a nominal charge.

October 8, 2011 (San Diego’s East County) – Halloween is coming soon and with it, the annual tradition of finding the perfect pumpkin for carving a jack-o-lantern—not to mention sweeter varieties for baking pumpkin pies!  Fortunately, there are several great places in East County to find giant pumpkins, as well as fun family activities from corn mazes to petting zoos.

SAN DIEGO COUNTY GOURDFEST AT BATES NUT FARM AUGUST 26- 28

 

 

August 23, 2011 (San Diego County) -- The San Diego County Gourd Patch is presenting the 2011, 2nd annual GOURDSTOCK FESTIVAL on August 26th (for setup and classes), 27-28 (for Festival & classes)  from 9:00a.m. until 5:00 p.m.The festival will take place at Bates Nut Farm, which is located at 15954 Woods Valley Road in Valley Center,  California 92082.

The festival is easy to find and access in North San Diego County (see map below). It is open to the public, the parking is free, and the entrance is free.
  

GOURDSTOCK FESTIVAL AT BATES NUT FARM AUGUST 27-28

 

August 7, 2011 (Valley Center) – San Diego County Gourd Patch invites you to the second annual Gourdstock Festival at Bates Nut Farm in August 27-28 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Admission is free.

 

Gourds are those funny shaped fruits, the pumpkin’s cousin, that dry out and can be used as containers, decorative art pieces, crafts, musical instruments and more. They were often used by the Indians to carry water and store supplies. There will be free demonstrations plus vendors selling all kinds, shapes, and sizes of raw and decorated gourds. You can also enjoy free classes, a fine arts fair, petting zoo for kids, and more.

HEARTBEAT HAPPENING CAR SHOW & BBQ ROLLS OUT SUNDAY, APRIL 17 AT BATES NUT FARM: SHOW IS PART OF WEEKEND CRAFT FAIR

April 15, 2011 (Valley Center)--Heartbeat Classics Chevy Club hosts its 13th annual classic car show, the Heartbeat Happening XIII, on April 17 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Bates Nut Farm, 15954 Woods Valley Road in Valley Center. Activities include a craft fair with over 50 vendors, Lion's Club pancake breakfast, barbecue, car painting and petting zoo for the kids. The show and other events are free to the public.

 

The car show is a highlight in a two-day weekend craft show; on Saturday, April 16 the Easter Bunny will also hop by for a visit.

FAMILY FUN & GIANT PUMPKINS AT BATES NUT FARM

October 27, 2010 (Valley Center) – Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center is famed for its giant pumpkins—some topping the scales at over 100 pounds. You can also find Jack-o-lantern pumpkins, mini-pumpkins, and much more. In addition, the farm offers tractor hayrides, a straw maze, pony rides, petting corral, farm zoo, costume contest and scarecrow contests—plus a shop chockfull of sweets, nuts, other goodies and gifts galore.

RENAISSANCE FAIRE BRINGS MEDIEVAL HISTORY TO LIFE SATURDAY

Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center hosts full day of merry-making

 

March 12, 2010 (Valley Center) – Highland games, archery, medieval music and cooking demonstrations are all part of the fun this Saturday, March 13th . Historical re-enactors from the Society for Creative Anachronism Inc. Renaissance Group will host a Renaissance Faire at Bates Nut Farm in Escondido from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.

SANTA’S COMING TO BATES NUT FARM

November 26, 2009 (Valley Center) - Ho, ho! Santa arrives November 27 and 28 at Bates Nut Farm in Valley Center. The visits comes amid a weekend-long arts and crafts fair with over 100 artisans selling hand-crafted wares.

 

Santa will be visiting with children and the young at heart at 1 p.m. both days. Other activities include face painting, Kids ‘n Paint, visits to the farm zoo, a country barbecue and kettle corn.
