November 16, 2012 (San Diego) -- The holiday season may be one of the few times local families get together and realize their elderly loved ones are in deep trouble and need immediate help. Adult children who don’t live nearby often come home to holiday heartbreak with deteriorating relatives they aren’t prepared to handle. So this holiday, the family might gather around the kitchen table – not only for turkey and treats, but also for a talk—a big talk—that maps out a plan to care for aging relatives.

November 15, 2011 (La Mesa) -- Don’t waste your Thanksgiving leftovers or risk clogging drains to dispose of grease! You can now drop off used cooking oil and grease for recycling at the EDCO Station in La Mesa or four other EDCO recycling buyback centers in the county. 

This free service is provided by EDCO and New Leaf Biofuel, both locally-owned companies.

November 3, 2011 (Ramona) -- This year’s 31st annual  Ramona United Methodist Church (RUMC) Turkey Dinner will be held on Sunday, November 6 from 12 – 5 p.m. at the Ramona Community Center, 434 Aqua Lane.  Proceeds will help to feed needy families in our area.

Two members are helping Mama’s Kitchen raise money to provide nutritious meals for San Diego men, women and children affected by AIDS and cancer.
