AGGIE OPEN GOLF TOURNAMENT TEES OFF OCT. 21 AT CUYAMACA COLLEGE

September 18, 2011 (Rancho San Diego)—Cuyamaca College invites the public to participate in its fifteenth annual Aggie Open Golf Tournament to benefit the college’s Botanical Society Scholarship Fund and the Ornamental Horticulture program.  The tournament will be held at Bonita Golf Course, 5540 Sweetwater Road in Bonita on Friday, October 21from 10:30 a.m. to 7 p.m.

ARRESTS MADE IN ABDUCTION, SEXUAL ASSAULT OF WOMAN FOUND NAKED ALONG STATE ROUTE 125

 

August 20, 2011 (San Diego’s East County)-- San Diego Police Department Sex Crimes Unit detectives have arrested two suspects, a man and a woman, for the brutal abduction, beating and sexual assault of a female victim.  The victim, 21, was dumped naked along State Route 125 in Bonita, where she was rescued by motorists.

KIDNAPPED WOMAN FOUND NUDE ALONG FREEWAY IN BONITA


August 18, 2011 (Bonita) – A woman kidnapped on Fairmont Avenue in City Heights was beaten and sexually assaulted before escaping her attacker.  After flagging down motorists, she was found naked along southbound 125 just south of Highway 54 in Bonita around 8:30 last night. Several drivers stopped to help the victim, 21.

Reservations Now Open for New Campground; Splash Park Invites Kids to Play

March 11, 2011 (Bonita)--County Supervisor Greg Cox joined County Parks and Recreation staff and community members Friday to celebrate the grand opening of over $10 million in additions to Sweetwater Regional Park’s Summit Campground and Eastview Park. Reservations opened Friday for the park’s new 63-spot Summit Campground.

“This has become the crown jewel in the County Parks system with something here for every San Diegan,” Supervisor Cox said. “If you want to get away and enjoy nature without traveling far, Sweetwater is perfect.”

PAROLEE ARRESTED FOR BURGLARY IN BONITA

 

January 13, 2011 (Bonita) – After a resident called 911 to report that someone was trying to break into the home in the 5300 block of Robinwood Road in Bonita, Sheriff’s deputies found screens had been removed from two windows and two sliding doors. A door lock had also been broken. Deputies arrested Cinely Ruvalcaba, 23, a parolee who was found hiding beneath an elevated porch, Lt. Scott Ybarrondo reported.

May 31, 2010 (Bonita) – An update on climate change will be presented by leaders of Citizens Climate Lobby on Thursday, June 10th at the Bonita Library, 4375 Bonita Road.

 

Citizens Climate Lobby hosts monthly national conferences and trains volunteers to speak to elected officials, the media, and local organizations on climate change issues.
