PICKWICK PLAYERS COMMUNITY THEATRE HAS SANTEE TIES

September 29, 2012 (Santee) -- Founded in 2006 the Pickwick Players Community Theater has some Santee ties: namely Cameron and Alisa Williams—who are also teachers at Carlton Oaks School in Santee.

Teachers by day, at night Cameron is an artistic director and Alisa is the group’s choreographer; you can throw in weekends and summer breaks as well to those nights.

URBAN FARMING IS FOCUS OF SPRING GARDEN FESTIVAL APRIL 28

 

 
 
April 15, 2012 (El Cajon) Join the Water Conservation Garden, the Heritage of the Americas Museum and the Ornamental Horticulture Department at Cuyamaca College on Saturday, April 28 from 9 a.m.to 5 p.m. as they present the 19th annual Spring Garden Festival.  This year’s theme is “Urban Farming” and will include experts on raising urban chickens, beekeeping and vegetable gardening.

April 25, 2012, San Diego) --The San Diego State University School of Music and Dance continues the celebration of its 75th Anniversary with two free performances of “Opera Arias” on Wednesday, May 2, at 12 p.m. and 7 p.m. in Smith Recital Hall.  The noon program will be an operatic sampler of the full-length evening program.

EAST COUNTY ARTISTS FEATURED AT “ARTWALK” FESTIVAL APRIL 28 IN LITTLE ITALY

April 20, 2012 (San Diego) -- San Diego’s original fine art festival, Mission Federal ArtWalk is back for its 28th year. Featuring artists who live in the East County area as well as San Diego, the event will be held on Saturday and Sunday , April 28 and 29, when 17 blocks of Little Italy will be transformed for this free festival. ArtWalk offers a unique opportunity for members of the public to engage directly with over 350 artists who will be there to display their original works for exhibit and sale. The art on display will include a wide range of paintings, sculpture, mosaics, glasswork and photography.

STEELE CANYON HOSTS GROSSMONT DISTRICT CHEER COMPETITION

February 6, 2012 (San Diego's East County) -- On January 28, 2012, junior varsity and varsity cheerleading teams met for competition.  They were the Grossmont Union High School District, and they competed in the Steele Canyon High School gymnasium in East County, California.

THE SPACE BAR INTERNET CAFE - 4TH THURSDAY OPEN MICROPHONE JUNE 23

 

June 19, 2011 (La Mesa) --On Thursday, June 23, The Space Bar Intenet Cafe will presenting  RegE Gaines with host  Jim Moreno. The Space Bar feature is part of its 4th Thursday  Open Mic -- Jihmye. The Gaines performance will contain works of the spoken word, poetry, song and dance. The open mic session will begin at 7:30 p.m, and end at 10:00 p.m.  In addition to the entertainment, the Space Bar is also home to coffee, tea, soothies, and a deli.
