Environmental Health Department Offering Free Recycling Kits While Supplies Last

County officials are reminding small business owners that they can still get free “mail-back” recycling kits to help them legally recycle their old fluorescent lights, thanks to the Department of Environmental Health (DEH) and a federal grant.

COUNTY OFFERS FREE LIGHT RECYCLING TO SMALL BUSINESSES

 
August 25, 2011 (San Diego) -- Small business owners in San Diego County can recycle fluorescent lights free! California state law requires everyone to recycle fluorescent tubes and bulbs, which contain small amounts of toxic metal mercury. The recycling can cost small businesses hundreds of dollars a year.
