May 31, 2017 (San Diego) - The Collegiate Rowing Coaches Association announced the list of CRCA National Scholar Athletes for the 2017 season, naming rowing’s Emaleigh White and Nadirah Jamaludin as award recipients. Both student-athletes are first-time recipients of the award.

May 31, 2017 (San Diego) - No matter what happens today, the Padres have won a series against the defending World Series champions.  Such an occurrence is like Haley’s Comet; it only happens once every [insert number of your choice] of years, so cherish it.  But in today’s game three, the Padres faced Jake Arrieta.  Luis Perdomo started for San Diego.  And something amazing would happen.

May 31, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State softball junior catcher Jenavee Peres (Garden Grove, Calif.) has been named a National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA) Second-Team All-American on Wednesday. The three All-America teams are voted on by coaching representatives for the NFCA throughout the country.

May 30, 2017 (El Cajon) - The last time former West Hills High standout Jeremiah Barr played in a big-time stadium, many thought his baseball career might be over.

Playing as a senior for the Wolf Pack, "J-Barr" dislocated his kneecap while swinging at a pitch after his cleat became lodged in the rubberized batting box at Petco Park, considered one of the cathedral ballparks in Major League Baseball.

May 28, 2017 (Alberquerque) - For the fourth time in the last five years, San Diego State is the Mountain West baseball champion, this time coming from behind to defeat Fresno State 5-3 Sunday afternoon in the title game in Albuquerque, N.M.

May 27, 2017 (Austin, Tex.) - San Diego State track and field produced seven qualifiers in three events to the NCAA Outdoor Track & Field Championships on the final day of the NCAA West Prelims Saturday, hosted by the University of Texas. The NCAA Championships occur from June 7-10 in Eugene, Ore.

May 27, 2017 (Alberquerque) - San Diego State fell victim to the tourney run rule as it dropped a 12-1 decision to Fresno State in seven innings at the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M. The result means both team have a loss and it will all come down to a single game for the 2017 conference championship on Sunday at 1:00 p.m. MT at Santa Ana Star Field.

May 26, 2017 (Alberquerque) - San Diego State scored three late runs, then held off a New Mexico comeback attempt as it defeated the Lobos 9-8 at the Mountain West Tournament being contested this weekend in Albuquerque, N.M. The victory sends SDSU into the tourney title game on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. where one more win would give them the conference title.

May 26, 2017 (San Diego) - Finally.  Finally.  Finally, the Padres got a successful series.  To be fair, it was against the Mets and this series will be against the Nationals, the best team in baseball, but hey, a series win is a series win.  Now it was on to Washington for the weekend.  Luis Perdomo started against Nationals ace Max Scherzer.

May 25, 2017 (Austin, Tex.) - San Diego State track and field junior Bonnie Draxler became the first Aztec this season to punch a ticket to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships, highlighting a strong day for the Scarlet and Black at the opening day of the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship west region preliminary round, hosted by the University of Texas, Thursday.

May 25, 2017 (Alberquerque) - In a contest played with a consistent 27 mph wind blowing out to right field, San Diego State was able to generate more offense than Fresno State as it defeated the Bulldogs 18-10 in Thursday’s opening game of the Mountain West Tournament in Albuquerque, N.M.

May 23, 2017 (San Diego) - San Diego State had 13 football players selected to the Athlon Sports preseason all-Mountain West team, the magazine recently announced. The back-to-back Mountain West champion Aztecs had a league-high 14 selections overall with senior Rashaad Penny (Norwalk, Calif.) named to the first team as a running back and a kick returner.
