April 17, 2021 (Long Beach) - The Aztec track and field team finished the second day of the Long Beach Invitational Saturday.
Kaitlin Heri (pole vault) and Maya Brosch (400m hurdles) each earned first place finishes, but the day was highlighted by freshman Simone Johnson’s performance in the triple jump. Johnson cleared 42-03.50 (12.89m), the fourth best jump in school history, and just half an inch (.01m) off former national champion Shanieka Thomas’ SDSU freshman record.
