February 25, 2026 (Crest) – The Crest Dehesa Granite Hills Harbison Canyon Planning Group is seeking public input on the safety of La Cresta Road, following a recent fatal head-on collision in Crest.
Josefina Sanchez, 72, was killed by an alleged drunk driver in the crash Feb. 11, 2026 while visiting her son in Crest. She was in town to mourn the death of her husband who passed away 12 days earlier in Mexico.

October 10, 2018 (Jamul) -- The Jamul Indian Village announces completion of road safety improvements at the intersection of Lyons Valley Road and Campo Road in Jamul. Breaking ground in July, the project funded by the Jamul Indian Village was completed on time and on budget, the tribe reports.

September 11, 2012 (La Mesa) -- The 3rd Annual Transportation Expo, Highlighting Transportation Resources & Safety will be held on October 3 at 8:30 a.m. at the Community Center, 4975 Memorial Drive, La Mesa.
A variety of exhibitors and speakers will offer tips on driving and road safety, transportation options, safety related topics including how to avoid mail fraud, ensure financial safety, disaster preparedness, and crime prevention. In addition, flu shots will be given by the Sharp Senior Resource Center Team for a $2.00 donation.
