February 20, 2018 (Santee) – The Santee Sheriff’s station will host a coffee with the community on Tuesday, February 27th from 6 to 7 p.m. at the Santee Branch Library (9225 Carlton Hills Blvd. #17).

This is an opportunity to meet and engage with the San Diego County Sheriff’ Department. You’ll have a chance to ask questions, voice concerns and get to know deputies who patrol your neighborhood. You can also get crime prevention tips and learn more about free safety programs, helping work together to keep your community safe.

June 17, 2013 (Santee) – If you've had your bicycle lost or stolen in the last six months; call the Santee Sheriff’s Station. Please provide some form of proof; a picture of the bike, a receipt, identifying marks, or a good description of the bike in order to claim it.

SANTEE SHERIFF INVITES PUBLIC TO "COFFEE WITH THE COMMUNITY" FEB. 27

February 17, 2013 (Santee) – Here's your chance to get know more about the services of the Santee Sheriff's Station. Chat with deputies, crime prevention specialists and detectives from the station's Community Oriented Policing and Problem Solving (COPPS) Unit. Speak with staff in a casual setting and exchange ideas and concerns over a cup of coffee. This event will be held Wednesday, February 27 from 9-10 a.m. at Kaffee Meister Coffee Shop, 9225 Carlton Hills Boulevard in Santee.

Community outreach is a top priority of the San Diego County Sheriff's Department. Reducing crime, making neighborhoods safer, and in general improving the quality of life for all of our citizens can only be accomplished through partnerships and team efforts. This event is not hosted.

HOMICIDE IN SANTEE

Update 6 p.m.: The suspect has been identified as Paul Carl Tomasini. He is being charged with murder, the Sheriff's office reports this evening.

October 1, 2012 (Santee)—A man with stab wounds is being questioned by Sheriff’s homicide detectives in connection with the death of a woman found deceased in a home in the 10500 block of Strathmore Drive in Santee last night.

SANTEE SHERIFF STATION TO TAKE PART IN AMERICA’S “NIGHT OUT AGAINST CRIME” AUG. 2

July 30, 2011 (Santee) – Santee’s Sheriff Station will be among law enforcement outlets nationwide to participate in National Night Out, America’s Night Out Against Crime on August 2 from 5-7 p.m. Activities include block parties, cookouts, a neighborhood walk, safety fairs, child fingerprinting, raffles, free shredding, free disposal of expired or unwanted prescription drugs, games, entertainment and more.

GEEZER BANDIT, TOTING OXYGEN, STRIKES SANTEE BANK

May 11, 2010 (Santee) – At 9:48 this morning, a man believed to be the “geezer bandit” robbed the Bank of America at 9711 Mission Gorge Road in Santee.

“He had a blue baseball cap and blue sport coat,” said Sergeant Tom Poulin, detective with the Santee Sheriff’s Department. A witness said the robber also had an oxygen tank.

DEPUTY DIES IN PURSUIT OF WRONG-WAY DRIVER IN SANTEE

February 28, 2010 (Santee) –Sheriff’s Deputy Ken Collier has died following a rollover accident that occurred while he was in pursuit of a wrong-way driver on westbound State Route 52 around 3:20 this morning. Dispatcher Ryan Debillis, who was riding along, was injured.

 

The driver, Jose Jasso Lopez, 23, will be charged with vehicular manslaughter and drunk driving, Sheriff Bill Gore announced at a press conference this morning.

PICKUP TRUCK STRIKES, KILLS SANTEE MAN IN WHEELCHAIR

November 26, 2009 (Santee) – Santee resident Hector Villasenor, 62, died after being struck by a pickup truck in the 8900 block of Carlton Hills Blvd. shortly before 6 p.m. on November 24. Santee Sheriff’s deputies responded to a call following the accident and found Villasenor non-responsive, lying in the roadway. Santee paramedics were unable to revive him but he was pronounced deceased at the scene.

SHERIFF’S SWEEP NEAR SANTEE HIGH SCHOOLS SNAGS DOZENS OF TEEN DRIVERS

 

November 18, 2009 (Santee) -- On November 17, Santee traffic deputies, school resource officers, juvenile detectives and the COPPS Unit conducted a teen driver compliance detail. Special attention was given to drivers near schools. Drivers were stopped and cited for various traffic violations including use of cell phones, not wearing seat belts, violation of provisional license restrictions and equipment violations.

 

Within the first 90 minutes, 27 citations and 36 violations issued near Santana High School. During the lunch hour, 9 citations and 14 violations were issued near West Hills High School.
