November 16, 2015 (San Diego)--A 90-year-old man who died from complications due to influenza is the first local flu-related death recorded this season, the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reported.

SHERIFF'S DEPUTY SAVES LIFE WITH NALOXENE, THANKS TO NEW PROGRAM

July 23, 2014 (San Diego’s East County) – Just two weeks ago, Sheriff’s deputies at the Santee station became among the first law enforcement officers in the program to carry Naloxene, a drug that reverses the effects of heroin, under a new pilot program.

July 21,2014 (La Mesa)—A case of tuberculosis has been reported at La Mesa Middle School, where others may have been exposed, , the San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency reports.

December 23, 2011 -- (San Diego County) -- Give your child the joy of opening an additional holiday present and give yourself peace of mind if you get them a bike, skateboard or scooter. The San Diego County Health and Human Services Agency (HHSA), Rady Children’s Hospital and Racers and Chasers are teaming up to remind people that those gifts need to be accompanied by a properly-fitted helmet, as well as wrist guards and elbow and knee pads if it’s a skateboard.

CDC AWARDS $16 MILLION GRANT TO COUNTY TO COMBAT OBESITY, PROMOTE HEALTHY EATING & PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
