November 7, 2012 (San Diego)—While Democrats failed to retake control of the United States House of Representatives, right now seats by party are at Republican 232, and Democratic at 191, with 12 seats still not decided. Among those not decided is San Diego’s own 52nd District contest between Scott Peters (D) and Congressman Brian Bilbray (R), where Peters now leads by a narrow margin.

September 23, 2012 (Del Mar)-- Democrats gathered on the off ramp of Ted Williams Parkway at Carmel Country Road, waving protest signs as Republican candidate Mitt Romney’s motorcade passed by yesterday.
Among the crowd of about 50 people were veterans, senior citizens and workers, a cross-section of the “47 percent” slammed by Romney in remarks caught on video released last week. In the video, recorded secretly at a fundraiser with wealthy donors, Romney denigrated the 47 percent of Americans who receive some form of government assistance (including Social Security retirees, the military, disabled and poor Americans) as well as those who pay no taxes.

June 6, 2012 (San Diego) – He’s a winner, yet perhaps the biggest loser in San Diego’s June primary election. Republican Congressman Brian Bilbray captured just 41.30% of the vote—first place, enough to secure his spot in the fall run-off, but not exactly a decisive victory for an incumbent legislator. Worse from Bilbray’s point of view, his two strongest competitors—both Democrats—combined to take over 45% of the vote.

The new California Primary system is in place this year, forcing all candidates of any party to run in what are now quasi-municipal elections. March 29, 2012 (San Diego) -- As April 15 approaches and San Diegans prepare to pay their income taxes, Lori Saldaña, the Democratic frontrunner of the 52nd Congressional District, repeated her challenge to the other candidates to release their tax returns.
Since issuing her original challenge on February 22nd, Saldaña is the only one of ten candidates who has made her taxes public. The leading Republican contender, Brian Bilbray, has agreed to release his returns, but has not done so.

Yet not a single Congressional bill has addresses jobs, hiring, retention, or outsourcing of jobs. The rich "job providers", sitting on piles of cash, are not interested in sharing their new-found profits with the working poor. Why would they?
