September 9, 2022 (La Mesa) - Last week, ECM Sports made the trek out to the desert, but for week four, we’re keeping it nice and local at Jim Arnaiz Field as the Helix Highlanders hosted the Dons of Cathedral Catholic for what’s always a great non-conference matchup.  The Scottie dawgs are a perfect 3-0.

September 7, 2022 (San Diego) - The Mountain West released the San Diego State women’s basketball Wednesday afternoon. The schedule features 18-games (nine home and nine road games) with each team playing eight opponents twice (home-and-home) and two opponents once (Utah State and Air Force). For the Aztecs, league games are scheduled to begin on Dec. 29 and wrap up on Feb. 28.

September 6, 2022 (Omaha) - The Aztec men’s soccer team (0-3-1) came back to tie No. 7 Creighton (2-1-1) 2-2 on the road Monday evening. The Blue Jays scored twice early, including one less than a minute into the contest, but SDSU battled back behind two goals from freshman C.J. Fodrey to earn their first result on the road against a top ten team in six years.

September 4, 2022 (San Diego) - San Diego State women’s soccer continued their three match homestand with a 2-2 draw on Sunday night against the visiting UC San Diego Tritons on the Sports Deck. Goals from Logan Nidy and a penalty from Kiera Utush earned the Aztecs the draw.

September 3, 2022 (Omaha) - On a warm night in Omaha, the Aztec men’s soccer team (0-3-0) fell 1-0 to Omaha (1-2-0) on Friday evening at Al F. Caniglia Field. The Aztecs gave up a goal late on and could not find an equalizer.

September 2, 2022 (Malibu) - Playing its first ranked team of the season, the San Diego State volleyball team had its moments against No. 9 Baylor on Friday but was unable to sustain the momentum after a spirited third-set rally, as the Aztecs dropped a 3-1 decision (18-25, 17-25, 29-27, 14-25) in their first match of the Pepperdine ASICS Classic.

BUFFALO BILLS DROP EX-AZTEC ARAIZA AMID RAPE ALLEGATIONS

August 28, 2022 (San Diego) – Days after a civil lawsuit filing accused Buffalo Bills punter Matt Araiza and two others of gang raping a 17-year-old girl while on the SDSU Aztecs football team last October, the Buffalo Bills have given the boot to the star punter.

“Our culture in Buffalo is more important than winning football games,” Brandon Beane, general manager for the Buffalo Bills, tweeted yesterday in announcing that Araiza has been released from the team. Araiza had been dubbed “Punt God” for the length and accuracy of his kicking. Araiza received the Ray Guy Award last November as the top punter nationwide in college football.

August 25, 2022 (Long Beach) - San Diego State women’s soccer scored two goals in the final eight minutes to earn a 2-2 draw at Long Beach State on Thursday evening at George Allen Field. Denise Castro tallied her fourth of the season and Poway High alum Trinity Coker scored her first collegiate goal to earn the Aztecs a 2-2 draw.
