March 8, 2020 (San Diego) - Junior driver Karli Canale picked up two hat tricks and assisted on two more goals to lead the No. 16 San Diego State water polo team to a pair of Golden Coast Conference (GCC) wins this weekend.  The Aztecs got road wins, 8-4 on Friday at Santa Clara and 11-9 at Pacific on Saturday, to improve its record to 9-9 overall and 3-0 in GCC competition.

March 7, 2020 (San Diego) - San Diego State women's tennis team collected a 6-1 victory over the Grand Canyon University Lopes in a Saturday matinee at Aztec Tennis Center March 7.

GCU would win its only matches of the day in doubles play, led by Weiss and Puehse's 6-3 win on court one over sophomore Alicia Melosch and senior Mia Smith. The Aztecs opened with a 6-1 decision on court two as junior Tamara Arnold and freshman Julia Jordan topped Grand Canyon's Occhipinti and Lo Pumo. The Lopes secured the point with a 6-3 victory over the third-seeded SDSU duo of junior Nnena Nadozie and freshman Cécile Morin.

March 7, 2020 (La Jolla) - The Aztec track and field team kicked of the 2020 outdoor season at UCSD’s San Diego Collegiate Challenge on Saturday. 19 athletes competed with 12 making their 2020 debut. Vanessa Spizewski and Jordyn Bryant highlighted the day for SDSU by winning the long jump and discus throw.

Schakel scored 14 of his 17 points in the second half as the fifth-ranked Aztecs rallied for a 73-60 win over Air Force in the quarterfinals of the Mountain West Conference tournament on Thursday.

March 4, 2020 (San Diego) - San Diego State allowed six runs in the top of the sixth inning of a one-run game in a 11-4 loss to Villanova Wednesday night at SDSU Softball Stadium.

The Wildcats (12-9), who are receiving votes in both the USA Today/NFCA and ESPN.com/USA Softball polls, were up, 4-3, after five innings before scoring six times off the Aztecs (14-9) on just three hits, but four walks and a crucial error.

Mike Jarvis (two RBI), Casey Schmitt (two runs), Anthony Walters and Brian Leonhardt finished with two hits apiece for the Aztecs, who also utilized four pitchers on the night, giving up just two unearned runs to raise their record to 9-4 overall.

The Aztecs (14-8) finished the tournament with a 3-1 record, only falling to defending national champion and No. 1/1 UCLA, 5-0, when the Bruins scored all five of their runs with two outs in the top of the seventh inning.

February 29, 2020 (San Diego) - Three San Diego State pitchers combined for 14 strikeouts against Oregon State on Saturday, as the Aztecs rolled to a 6-0 victory at Tony Gwynn Stadium.

After the Aztec staff was victimized by a combined 17 runs and 25 hits in the first two games of the series, the trio of starter Troy Melton and relievers Christian Winston and Avery Jones came up huge, limiting the Beavers to just four hits to help the Scarlet and Black complete its first shutout of the 2020 campaign.

February 27, 2020 (San Diego) - The Aztec women’s basketball team (14-16, 9-9) closed out the regular season with a dominating 81-68 win over Nevada (14-15, 7-11) on senior night Thursday evening. SDSU shot 49 percent from the field and scored a season-high 81 points while holding the Wolf Pack to 35 percent shooting and outrebounded them 43-32.
