March 18, 2018 (Monterrey, Mexico) - The 14-time and 2017-18 Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers quest for their 15th title ended with a 6-4 loss to the Monterrey Flash in the MASL Ron Newman Cup Western Conference Final at Arena Monterrey on Sunday night. The theme of the night would be the near-misses by the Sockers throughout the game. San Diego, who has not yet made the championship round, has now lost three consecutive MASL semi-finals.

March 15, 2018 (San Diego) - One day ahead of the Conference Final Weekend, the Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced the All-MASL 1st Team for the 2017-2018 regular season. Goalkeeper Chris Toth, who now has the edge on being honored as the Goalkeeper of the Year, was the only Socker named to the team. Earlier this week, the MASL announced the All-Rookie and Rookie Honorable Mentions as well as 2nd Team, 3rd Team, and Honorable Mention All-MASL Teams.

March 14, 2018 (San Diego) - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today the MASL 2nd Team, 3rd Team and Honorable Mention list. The San Diego Sockers were represented by forward Kraig Chiles and defender John Sosa on the Second Team, and goalkeeper Boris Pardo on the Third Team. These awards are a prelude to the MASL Conference Finals to be held this weekend. The Milwaukee Wave travel to the Baltimore Blast on Friday and the Monterrey Flash host the San Diego Sockers on Sunday as all four teams try to earn a spot in the Ron Newman Cup Championship.

March 8, 2018 (Kent, Wash.) - The 14-time and 2017-18 Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers dropped Game One of the best-of-three Major Arena Soccer League Divisional Championship Series to the Tacoma Stars 5-2 at accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, Washington on Thursday night. San Diego now must win Game Two to set up a series-deciding 15-minute Mini-Game at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday night. The two goals scored by San Diego was their lowest offensive output of the season.

March 3, 2018 (San Diego) - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers (19-3) concluded their 2017-18 MASL regular season with a 10-3 rout of the El Paso Coyotes before a season-high crowd of 5,218 at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday night. Anthony Medina, who announced his retirement after nine seasons, scored three goals in his final game.

March 1, 2018 (Ontario) - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers ended the postseason dreams of the Ontario Fury with an 8-4 win before a gathering of 3,279 at Citizens Business Bank Arena. The Sockers (18-3), who will meet the Tacoma Stars in the Divisional Championship Series beginning Wednesday, March 7,  are one win away from securing the second-best record in the MASL and the possibility of having home-field advantage throughout the playoffs.

February 27, 2018 (San Diego) - The Major Arena Soccer League (MASL) announced today that San Diego Sockers Kraig Chiles and Chris Toth were named to the Team of the Week for Week 18. For both players, it is their third such honor this season. Chiles had a seven-point night last Saturday with two goals and a season-high five assists. Toth made eight saves in earning his ninth win. Matt Clare was placed on the Honorable Mention list for his hat trick against Rio Grande Valley.

February 24, 2018 (San Diego) - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers (17-3) tuned-up for the upcoming week of important games by defeating Rio Grande Valley 13-3 before 3,227 at Valley View Casino Center on Saturday night. Kraig Chiles notched two goals and five assists, while Matt Clare and Anthony Medina added three goals each to pace the offense. Chris Toth made eight saves for his ninth win in goal.

February 16, 2018 (Lakeland, Fla.) - The Pacific Division Champion San Diego Sockers were held to only four goals, but that was enough to defeat Florida 4-2 at RP Funding Center on Friday night. San Diego improves to 15-3, while the Tropics' playoff hopes were dashed with the loss to drop to 9-8.

February 11, 2018 (San Diego) - The Pacific Division champion San Diego Sockers (14-3) followed up winning the title on Friday with a 7-3 win over Sonora (11-7) on Sunday before the largest crowd of the season of 3,827 at Valley View Casino Center.

February 9, 2018 (Tacoma) - The 14-Time champion San Diego Sockers (13-3) clinched their second consecutive MASL Pacific Division title with a 10-3 win over the Tacoma Stars on Friday night. Kraig Chiles had a hat-trick, and Brandon Escoto, Brian Farber, and Erick Tovar paced San Diego with two goals each. Luan Oliveira also found the back of the net.

January 28, 2018 (Monterrey, Mexico) - Omar Santillan's four-goal performance power the Monterrey Flash to a 6-3 win over the visiting San Diego Sockers in Arena Monterrey on Sunday afternoon. The Flash improved to 15-0, while the Sockers dropped to 12-3 on the season. The win gives Monterrey the advantage in the playoffs, if the two teams meet again the game will be played in Mexico. San Diego's magic number to clinch a playoff berth remains at three.

Luan Oliveira scored four goals as San Diego remained undefeated (8-0) in the MASL. The Sockers have scored eight or more goals in six of their wins.

It is the fifth consecutive week, when the team was eligible, that a Sockers player has been honored. Anthony Medina, who was playing in his first game of the season, was placed on the Honorable Mention List.

Matt Clare and Chris Toth were honored for their performances in Sunday’s match against Ontario. It is the third consecutive week that the Sockers have had a player on the TOTW. Brandon Escoto and Luan Oliveira were honorable mentions.

November 19, 2017 (San Diego) The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers (4-0) ended their three-game homestand with an 8-0 victory over the Ontario Fury (2-2) before a crowd of 3,401, the largest of the season. Goalkeeper Chris Toth made 16 saves en route to his first-ever shutout and the first for the Sockers in the MASL era. Matt Clare scored the club’s second consecutive hat trick to maintain his four-game scoring streak. Undefeated San Diego captures an early two-game lead in the Pacific Division.
