January 18, 2018 (San Diego) - The Ontario Fury ended the 14-time champion San Diego Sockers (10-1) winning streak with a 8-5 win at Citizens Business Bank Arena in Ontario. San Diego had opened the season with ten consecutive wins.

January 16, 2018 (San Diego) - The Major Arena Soccer League announced today that San Diego Sockers midfielder Brandon Escoto has been named the MASL Team Of The Week for week 12. The honor is his first of the season.

January 7, 2018 (San Diego) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers improved to 9-0 with a 10-1 win over the Turlock Express before 2,652 at Valley View Casino Center. The Sockers, who outscored Turlock 27-4 in the last three contests, have scored eight or more goals in seven of their wins.

January 5, 2018 (Turlock, Calif.) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers tallied six times in the second half to outpace the Turlock Express, 8-2, on Friday night at the Turlock Indoor Soccer Center. Luan Oliveira scored four goals as San Diego remained undefeated (8-0) in the MASL. The Sockers have scored eight or more goals in six of their wins.

December 19, 2017 (San Diego) - Sockers midfielder Erick Tovar was named to the MASL Team Of The Week for week eight. It is the fifth consecutive week, when the team was eligible, that a Sockers player has been honored. Anthony Medina, who was playing in his first game of the season, was placed on the Honorable Mention List.

December 17, 2017 (San Diego) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers moved to 7-0 with a 9-2 victory over the Turlock Express before 3,240 at Valley View Casino Center. With the win, the Sockers take full control of the Pacific Division earning a 3 ½ game lead over second place Ontario. Erick Tovar led the attack with his first hat-trick of the season.

San Diego (6-0) remains undefeated early and has a three-game lead in the Pacific Division.

December 1, 2017 (San Diego) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers (5-0) edged the Tacoma Stars 4-3 at the accesso ShoWare Center in Kent, WA. Captain Kraig Chiles added two goals and one assist to his league-leading total of 16 points to pace the Sockers. The win extended San Diego’s lead in the Pacific Division to three games over the Stars and Ontario.

November 21, 2017 (San Diego) - The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers placed two players on the week four MASL Team Of The Week (TOTW). Matt Clare and Chris Toth were honored for their performances in Sunday’s match against Ontario. It is the third consecutive week that the Sockers have had a player on the TOTW. Brandon Escoto and Luan Oliveira were honorable mentions.

November 19, 2017 (San Diego) The 14-time champion San Diego Sockers (4-0) ended their three-game homestand with an 8-0 victory over the Ontario Fury (2-2) before a crowd of 3,401, the largest of the season. Goalkeeper Chris Toth made 16 saves en route to his first-ever shutout and the first for the Sockers in the MASL era. Matt Clare scored the club’s second consecutive hat trick to maintain his four-game scoring streak. Undefeated San Diego captures an early two-game lead in the Pacific Division.
