SUMMER MUSIC & CULTURE FESTIVAL COMES TO EAST COUNTY AUGUST 8

June 10, 2010 (Rancho San Diego) – Celebrating East County’s multitude of cultures from around the world, the Rancho San Diego-Jamul Chamber of Commerce is organizing a Summer Music & Culture Festival. The event, which is free to the public, will be held Sunday, August 8 from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. in the Water Conservation Garden at Cuyamaca College.

Cultural performers such as dancers, singers and bands as we ll as artisans, crafters and food/beverage vendors are invited to participate as sponsors.

March 25, 2010 (Rancho San Diego)- “Success for 2010” and a “Buy Locally” community campaign are the themes for the Rancho San Diego Jamul Chamber of Commerce 4th Friday breakfast meetings, which are held at different locations each month. The next event will be held March 26 from 7:30-9 a.m. at The Press Box Lounge, 2990 Jamacha Rd, Rancho San Diego.

Speakers include Supervisor Dianne Jacob (photo, left), who will provide a comprehensive overview on the economy, and San Miguel Fire Chief August "Augie" Ghio, who will address hot topics including impacts of funding challenges on our region.

MORTGAGE SCAMS ON THE RISE, DUMANIS SAYS AT RANCHO SAN DIEGO-JAMUL CHAMBER EVENT

October 24, 2009 (El Cajon) – “The biggest thing we’re seeing now is mortgage loan fraud and real estate fraud,” San Diego County District Attorney Bonnie Dumanis said at Cuyamaca College during a breakfast hosted by the Rancho San Diego-Jamul Chamber of Commerce. “One scam had 400 victims.”  The D.A. discussed loan scams and other crime trends in San Diego County during the October 23rd event.

MILITARY PERSONNEL TEE OFF AT “IT’S IN THE HOLE”

October 22, 2009 (Rancho San Diego) – Spending a sunny autumn day golfing was a welcome change of pace for U.S. Marine Corporal Andrew Johnson, a veteran of the war in Afghanistan. “It’s nice and relaxing to get away,” Johnson said. Johnson was among the military personnel and veterans who participated in the “It’s in the Hole” golf tournament sponsored by the Rancho San Diego-Jamul Chamber of Commerce at Cottonwood Golf Course.  The Chamber offered members and guests the opportunity to play golf--or sponsor a U.S. military member or veteran.

Cal Fire Battalion Chief Dave Allen and San Miguel Fire District Chief August Ghio spoke on what to expect and how to be prepared in the upcoming months.

LIFE’S A CIRCUS: BIG TOP SHOW TONIGHT IN RANCHO SAN DIEGO, NEXT 2 DAYS IN POWAY

April 28, 2009(San Diego’s East County)—Elephants hoisted a big top tent to open the 73rd edition of Carson & Barnes Circus in Rancho San Diego/La Mesa, where the show goes on with a 4:30 matinee and a 7:30 evening show tonight. The circus brings nearly 100 performers and a traveling zoo to East County. Proceeds help benefit local hosts--including the Rancho San Diego-Jamul Chamber of Commerce--making this one of the more entertaining economic "stimulus" programs East County has seen yet.
