March 14, 2009 (El Cajon)--Singing Hills Animal Hospital is seeking a good home for two labrador retrievers whose owner boarded the dogs but died during surgery. The goal is to place both dogs together in the same home. According to an e-mail received by East County Magazine from a friend of the owner, the dogs are friendly and obedient. Jake, a brown male lab, is 6 years old and neutered. Rainy, a 5-year-old female black lab, has been spayed. Both dogs have had shots and been dewormed. Singing Hills Animal Hospital is offering the dogs free to a good home and will not charge any boarding charges. For more information, call Singing Hills Animal Hospital at 619 441-5850 and ask for Monica or Julie. Charlene Ayers visited the veterinary hospital to take a photo of the dogs. "They have lived with an elderly man," she said. "He placed them at the Singing Hills Animal Hospital in January 2009 when he had to enter a nursing home. He visited them every day until he died a few days ago. He and they would share a half-gallon of ice cream using one spoon between them," she added, noting that Jake is grieving for his owner. "They both would miss each other if separated...so one good home for both dogs is the best placement solution."
