December 23, 2018( El Cajon) –Three El Cajon businesses are joining to give away 50 new bikes and helmets on Christmas Eve to deserving East County children.

The public is invited to the open-house style event which will feature a brisket and pulled pork BBQ cookout provided by Golden Corral of El Cajon, also from 10am-1pm, at Cartwright Pest Control, 1376 Broadway in El Cajon.

Rob Cartwright, president and owner of Cartwright Pest Control, one of the three participating businesses said, “We’ve partnered with the Boys and Girls Club of East County and the USO to select 50 children of military members and first responders.”

Cartwright said selected children will receive a voucher to come to his El Cajon location on December 24, 2018 between 10am and 1pm. The other two businesses participating in the bike donation are ASAP Towing and the new iWash Car Wash Center, both in El Cajon.

“We’d like to encourage kids to get out of the home and enjoy bike riding,” said Cartwright. “It’s good exercise, and it encourages building social skills with other kids who ride as well.” Each child will also receive a helmet as well.

All three businesses are located in the city of El Cajon, CA. Cartwright has been providing pest control service throughout Southern California since 1962; ASAP Towing has been providing towing and roadside services since 1958, and iWash Car Wash Center just opened its drive-thru, self-service, state-of-the-art center this past October, 2018.
