July 2, 2015 (La Mesa) –June Takekawa Hsu, an 85-year-old La Mesa resident, has died of injuries sustained in a crash on northbound I-5 in Del Mar on June 24th shortly before 5 a.m. , the County Medical Examiner’s office reports.
Hsu was driving a 1995 Nissan Sentra that stalled on the number 2 lane just south of Via De La Valle. Her vehicle was rear-ended by a 2008 Accord traveling at full freeway speed. The Honda was then struck by other vehicles.
Both the Sentra and Honda came to rest in the center freeway lanes, where emergency medical personnel pronounced Hsu dead of blunt force injuries 19 minutes after the crash occurred.
