September 20, 2010 (Lakeside) – A San Diego Sheriff’’s deputy shot a 100-pound dog that reportedly charged at him, growling with teeth bared. The shooting occurred on a driveway of a residence across the street from Lakeview Elementary School at 7:40 a.m., about an hour before classes began.

The Deputy was responding to a complaint that the same "vicious dog" had been running loose and charged a 78-year-old woman earlier this morning, accordin to a statement issued by the Sheriff's department.

Animal Control Officers were able to retrieve and seize the wounded dog that had fled into a near-by drainage culvert after it had been shot.
