October 3, 2011 (Alpine)—Several controversial issues will be discussed a special meeting of the Alpine Planning Group on Tuesday, October 4 at 6 p.m.  Chairman Greg Fox will discuss future meeting protocols and his reasons for not accepting  resignation of George Barnett, who rescinded his resignation.

Several Powerlink issues are also on the agenda. The group will consider setting up an ad-hoc committee to help residents with SDG&E claims.  They will also weigh whether to ask the California Public Utilities Commission to require SDG&E to resume community meetings after the utility cancelled its community advisory groups due to contentious public sessions. Extending work hours for SDG&E construction near several businesses will be considered as well.

Planning group members will also review County language of the policy I-1, which governs conflict of interest rules, and vote on applying rules to the Alpine Design Review Board.

The meeting will be held in the Alpine Community Center, 1830 Alpine Blvd.
