March 22, 2024 (San Diego)-- How Does the Cow Sleep is a charming children's picture book for ages 1 through 5. San Diego author Nico Waters shows the sleeping positions of a cow, bear, giraffe, lion, bat, rhino, cat, and human baby.

Waters asks how the specific animal sleeps, and then answers with a colorful illustration that shows the animal sleeping in their natural habitat.

All animals sleep and some may stand or even hang upside-down. The book’s underlying message is that sleeping is natural and good for all animals. Each shows illustration shows deep peace in the sleeping animal. It suggests that sleep is inviting and calming--an artful suggestion to children who are often frightened at night.

Nico Waters is the author of thirteen children's books with Saddleback Educational Publishing. Besides writing, Waters has fun with markers and watercolor paint and is always searching for delicious recipes. She lives in San Diego with her husband and is a Board Member of the San Diego Writers Guild.
