July 5, 2009 (Lemon Grove)-- Assemblymember Marty Block (D-78) will host an open house at his DistOffice in Lemon Grove on Friday, plus a free clinic in Bonita on Saturday for homeowners facing foreclosure.

"We had a very successful open house in December," commented the Assemblymember, "and would like to repeat that while introducing residents to our local staff and services available to them." Learn about help with state services, information and legislative updates at the 78th Assembly District office open house on Friday, July 10 from 4:30-6:30 at 7144 Broadway in Lemon Grove.

On Saturday, July 11th, Assemblymember Block will also host “Handling the Housing Crisis,” a free event for the benefit of homeowners who are feeling the crunch of these tough economic times. In collaboration with the Housing Opportunities Collaborative, the San Diego County Library, and the Legal Aid Society of San Diego Pro Bono Program, this hands-on clinic is for San Diegans who are having trouble paying their mortgages.

Those planning to participate are asked to bring their mortgage/lending/escrow documents as the clinic will offer reviews of those documents by a team of experts in the fields of law and housing. The Saturday clinic will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the San Diego County Library at Bonita-Sunnyside in the community room, 4375 Bonita Road, in Bonita.

To register, and for additional information on the free home clinic, individuals may contact the District Office of Assemblymember Marty Block at (619) 462-7878.
