Millionaire offers help to Collier's widow who lost child, mother, and home

August 27, 2011 (El Cajon) – The San Diego Medical Examiner has confirmed the identities of three people found dead in a murder/suicide that also left an El Cajon police officer critically wounded.

The body of Rhilee Collier, 14 months, was found in the back seat of a truck parked on the street in the 1000 block of Prince Street on August 21. She was killed with a single gunshot wound to the head.

The burned remains of Beverli Rakov were found inside the back of the house at 1033 Prince Street. Cause of her death was a gunshot wound to the head. Kevin Collier’s burned remains were also found with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. The Medical Examiner used dental records to identify both adult decedents.

Collier had sent messages indicating he had shot and killed his daughter and mother-in-law. When police arrived, he shot officer Jarred Slocum, then apparently set fire to the home.

His wife, Alyssa Collier, had filed for divorce a few days before the tragedy.  Now a local millionaire, Marc Paskin, has reached out and offered financial help to Alyssa Collier, ECM news partner 10 News reports: http://www.10news.com/news/28981827/detail.html

Slocum, who is married with two children and a third on the way, underwent surgery and remains in stable but critical condition.

A fund has been set up to assist Officer Slocum’s family. Donations may be made to:
