Parenteau got San Diego State back to within a goal at 3-2 on a tally with 3:54 to go before the half, but SDSU then saw LMU reel off four straight goals in the final three and a half minutes of the second quarter to lead 7-2 at the halfway point.

The third period belonged to the Aztecs.  They outscored the Lions 4-1 and got to within two goals, at 8-6, with eight minutes to play.
