BAREFOOT BLISS: ORFILA GRAPE STOMP SET FOR AUGUST 27

June 6, 2011 (San Pasqual) –Doff your shoes, kick up your heels and dive into a barrel of ripe grapes at Orfila Vineyards annual Grape Stomp on Saturday, August 27th.   This popular event sells out early each year and includes a wine-tasting reception with hors-d’oeuvres, dinner buffet, live performance by Java Sounds featuring saxophonist Adrienne Nims, tractor rides, and grape stomping.

 

The event takes place from 4-8 p.m. Tickets cost $85, or become an Orfila Wine Lovers (OWL) Club member and save 20%.  Located in the San Pasqual Valley in northeast San Diego County, Orfila has won more than 1,300 awards for its wines, including many national and international honors.

Couscous Salad with red bell pepper, green olives, pine nuts, capers, currants and parsley tossed in a red wine vinaigrette
Oven Roasted Lemon-Herb Drenched Chicken Breast marinated in dry white wine, olive oil, lemon, rosemary, thyme, basil and parsley
Grilled Flat Iron Steak with horseradish-chive cream
Vegetable Lasagna featuring eggplant and mushrooms with a pesto béchamel sauce

Asparagus Spears marinated in tarragon oil with yellow tomato summer vinaigrette
