October 15, 2011 (La Mesa) – Two men who tried to hold-up the Rodeway Inn at 4210 Spring Street in La Mesa at 9:50 p.m. last night, including one armed with a BB-gun, left empty-handed.

One suspect entered the lobby and attempted to kick open the office door while the other suspect stayed outside, acting as a lookout, according to La Mesa Police. The first suspect then pointed a gun at the clerk, who realized the weapon was a BB gun and refused repeated demands to turn over the money.

The suspects gave up and were last seen running west through the parking lot toward Gateside Road. The clerk was not injured.

The suspects have not yet been found. Their descriptions are as follows:

Suspect #1: Black male, mid 20’s, 6’1”, 175 pounds, with a thin build. He was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black jeans and black shoes. He was armed with a black BB gun with a brown handle. The suspect concealed his identity with the hood of his sweatshirt.

Suspect #2: Black male, mid 20’s, 6’0”, 185 pounds, with a stocky build. He was wearing a red t-shirt, red shorts, white socks and black shoes. He concealed his identity with a purple towel wrapped around his face.
