BORDER PATROL HALTS WOMAN WITH HIDDEN METH IN PINE VALLEY

September 14, 2015 (Pine Valley)--U.S. Border Patrol agents arrested a woman Saturday evening at the Interstate 8 checkpoint who had 38 bundles of meth in her car.The 38 bundles of methamphetamine weighed 45.46 pounds and have an estimated street value of $454,600. 

At approximately 8:45 p.m., the 28-year-old Mexican national arrived at the I-8 checkpoint driving a 2006 Ford Fusion.  She was referred to the secondary inspection area, where a K-9 sniff of her sedan resulted in a positive alert.  Agents searched the vehicle and discovered methamphetamine bundles hidden inside the front and back seats and inside the rear quarter-panels.

The woman and narcotics were turned over to the Drug Enforcement Administration.  The vehicle was seized by the U.S. Border Patrol.

Last fiscal year, the San Diego Sector intercepted 1,797 pounds of methamphetamine, which was an increase of 43.7 percent from the prior year.
