October 20, 2011 (Borrego Springs) – An “extreme parade” this Saturday promises to be a memorable highlight in this year’s Borrego Days Desert Festival October 21-23.

The parade will kick off with a choreography of skydivers “dancing in the clouds,” followed by a flyover by planes from the Hammer-Heads. For added excitement, daredevil motorcycle stunt rider Robbie Maddison will serve as grand marshal of the parade.

Other parade entries will include marching bands, equestrial groups, floats and decorated golf carts.

The three-day festival, now in its 46th year, is free to the public. Full details are available at http://www.borregospringschamber.com/BorregoDays/index.html.

Other attractions include a music festival with live entertainment, artists, vendors, and a children’s area complete with mini-carnival, face painting, pony rides and more.

Want a birds-eye view of the spectacular desert scenery? Be among the first 50 blood donors to sign up online with the Red Cross through the link above and be treated to a helicopter ride over the Borrego Days Festival.

The Festival also features a beer garden, breakfasts served up by the Lion’s Club, and additional foods ranging from filet mignon burgers to salmon sliders, from chili dogs to macaroni and cheese.
