April 7, 2024 (Borrego Springs) – Borrego Springs, a tranquil desert oasis, is set to host the prestigious 6-12-24 Hour World Time Trial Championships (WTTC) November 1-3. Esteemed in the endurance cycling world, this event draws top time trial racers globally to this Southern California gem.

 
Situated amidst the Anza-Borrego Desert with the Coast Range providing a stunning backdrop, Borrego Springs blends breathtaking natural scenery with the intense demands of endurance racing. The WTTC offers more than a rigorous test of speed and endurance; it's a celebration within the unique and captivating environment of Borrego Springs, highlighting the strong sense of community among cyclists.
 
The WTTC features a meticulously prepared course, designed to push competitors to their limits. With a main loop extending 18 miles and featuring 347 feet of elevation change, coupled with a finishing loop of 4.8 miles and 63 feet of elevation, the course is both flat and fast, ideal for setting personal bests and world records. County road crews have been working tirelessly to ensure the road surface is in optimal condition, making it safe and fast for the racers.
 
For Borrego Springs locals, a highlight is Sylvia Maas, a respected Soroptimist and former educator known for her endurance cycling feats in events like the World Time Trial Championships and the Race Across America. Her involvement, along with partner Kristi Sisson and Team Infinity, elevates the town's community spirit and reinforces its reputation as a hub for endurance sports.
 
The WTTC transcends being merely a race, offering a chance to immerse in Borrego Springs' distinct allure. The town's landscape, peppered with Ricardo Breceda's striking metal sculptures and framed by stunning sunrises and sunsets, provides a rich tapestry of sights.
