January 14, 2019 (Lemon Grove) -- The Lemon Grove Historical Society continues "Meet the Author" on Saturday, Jan. 19 at 2 p.m. in the Lemon Grove Library, 3001 School Lane, when Dolores Van Rensalier Warren details the remarkable story in her new book, "Bridge Street to Freedom."

What does a young girl, growing up white in San Diego, do when she learns of her African American heritage? Why, she becomes a detective and a historic preservationist. Not only did she trace her true background, she managed to preserve a related stop on the Underground Railroad.

You won't want to miss this riveting American story told by the beautiful and personable woman who lived it.  For information, call 619-463-9819 or 619-460-4353.
