February 5, 2019 (San Diego) - California Coast Credit Union, the longest-serving financial institution in San Diego County, is celebrating its 90th Anniversary with a community-wide “Day of Service” and other events to build upon its legacy of giving back to the community.
Cal Coast was founded in 1929 by local teachers based on the principle of “people helping people” and has continued that legacy by providing financial and in-kind support to local schools and hundreds of local non-profits, charities and causes. Community partners include all area community colleges, various universities and school districts, Rady Children’s Hospital, San Diego Humane Society, San Diego Zoo, Home Start and many others.
In celebration of the credit union’s 90th Anniversary, Cal Coast will invite the community to join their employees for a “Day of Service” later this year, as well as a “Countdown to 90 Days of Giving.” The Cal Coast Cares Foundation, the credit union’s 501(c)(3) non-profit organization, will also increase the amount it awards in scholarships to $90,000 for local high school students and college-bound seniors, as well as foster youth and area colleges in 2019. Cal Coast will also offer a Celebration Certificate for current and new members, featuring a special offer tied to the 90-year milestone. e
“As we celebrate 90 years of service in San Diego and Riverside Counties, we sincerely thank our members for their loyalty and trust in us,” said Todd Lane, Cal Coast President and CEO. “California Coast has plans to continue the celebration all year long with special promotions and festivities to show our appreciation to our members and the community at-large for their continued partnership and support.”
